The Whiteside Campground consists of five individual family campsites. Each campsite includes a table and a fire ring. There is one parking area, drinking water and a vault toilet within the campground. Four sites are accessed via a foot bridge. This campground is not recommended for trailers or RVs. The nearest public telephone is located in the town of Grant. The nearest fire and emergency services are located at Bailey about 14 miles away.The site is located very close to the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway and the Mount Evans Wilderness Area. There is fishing in streams and alpine lakes, hiking, biking, horseback riding and four-wheel driving trails easily accessible from the site.
Directions from Grant: Whiteside Campground is located approximately two miles northwest of the small town of Grant, Colorado. Take Park County Road 62 north out of Grant to reach the campground.

Burning Bear Trail - This pleasant 5.5 mile trail follows the Burning Bear Creek west from Geneva Creek, over a ridge, and down the Burning Bear Creek on the west side of the ridge.
Gibson Lake Trail - This 2.4 mile hike follows the Lake Fork drainage to a pretty lake nestled in a high tundra bowl. The well-established trail climbs at a steady, moderately steep grade.
Rosalie Trail - The Rosalie Trail is a popular trail extending from the southeast edge of the Mt. Evans Wilderness Area to Guanella Pass. It offers spectacular views of Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans.
Shelf Lake Trail - The Shelf Lake Trail follows the Smelter Gulch drainage to Shelf Lake in a high mountain cirque. The 3.2 mile hike is on an established trail the entire distance.
Three Mile Creek Trail - This popular hiking trail provides access into the heart of the southern half of the Mt. Evans Wilderness Area. The trailhead is along Geneva Creek Road and its terminus is the junction with the Rosalie Trail.
