General Description

The Cabin Ridge Picnic Ground is located on the southern end of the Rampart Range Road. This area includes 5 picnic units with tables, fire grates and toilets. No drinking water is provided. The site rests at an elevation of 8,700'. The focus of recreational activity near this site is hiking and motorcycling. Devils Head Fire Lookout Trailhead is located in the Devil's Head Picnic Ground. Trailheads for motorized use line the Rampart Range Road.

Directions from Sedalia: To reach the Cabin Ridge Picnic Ground travel approximately ten miles west of Sedalia on Highway 67 to the Rampart Range Road. Turn left (south) on the Rampart Range Road for approximately eight and one-half miles to the picnic ground.

Cabin Ridge Motorized Trail - Cabin Ridge Trail is 4 miles long one way and rated easy by the Forest Service. It is heavily used by hikers, mountain bikers, motorcyclists and ATV riders.

Flat Rock Motorized Trail - Flat Rock Motorized Trail, # 674, leads 4.1 miles between Cabin Ridge Trail and Bar Trail. It is rated at an intermediate ability level and gets heavy use.

Topaz Point Picnic Ground - The Topaz Point Picnic Ground includes 5 picnic areas with tables, fire grates and toilets. There is no drinking water available. Users of this site usually focus on motorcycling or hiking.
