General Description

The Bar Trail is 4 miles long with an intermediate level of difficulty. It is the most popular and most heavily used motorized trail in the Rampart Range Area. It is located in the northwestern section of the area and leads from Sprucewood to Flat Rocks Campground. This trail is open to hiking, biking, horseback riding, ATV riding and motorcycling.

The National Forest Service challenges all off-highway vehicle (OHV) users to TREAD LIGHTLY on public lands. The Tread Lightly program educates and informs forest users on how to enjoy recreation opportunities without damaging resources or negatively affecting others enjoyment of public lands. Potential damage to our natural environment is intensified due to increasing popularity of OHVs. (This category of vehicles includes 4WD, ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikes and snowmobiles.) TREAD LIGHTLY was created to curb damage to soil, water, wildlife, visual and solitude components on the forest. For more information contact any Ranger District Office.

Directions from Sedalia: Drive 10 miles west on Highway 67. Turn left (south) on Rampart Range Road and travel approximately 4.5 miles to the Trailhead for Bar Trail #673.
