General Description

West Dolores Campground is similar to Mavreeso Campground and just a mile up the road. There are 13 sites on 10 acres near the river. Most are shady and level, and several are suitable for large RVs. There is a dump station. One site has a table that accommodates wheelchairs. All sites are first-come, first-served. There is day-use parking near the entrance.

Directions from Dolores, Colorado: Travel 21 miles north on Colorado Hwy 145 and Forest Development Road #535 to campground entrance.

Normal Services Available: Late May through Labor Day Weekend (NOTE: Open, water is on) .

Report: Found the area dry and encountered ticks for the first time. New hosts are excellent.

Report: The river is low, the fishing is not good. However,the area is gorgeous and the camp host is wonderful. The facilities are excellent.
