General Description

The trail begins in a mixed conifer forest and climbs to a rock field above timberline. A side loop 1.5 miles from the trailhead explores the historic Windy Williams Mine.

Directions from Mancos, Colorado: Travel north on Colorado Hwy 184 for 0.2 mile and turn east onto the West Mancos Road (Forest Service Road #561). Go 14 miles and turn right on Spruce Mill Road (Forest Service Road #350). Continue about 6 miles, veering right on a narrow road (Forest Service Road #346) toward Twin Lakes and Sharkstooth Trailhead. Use 4WD for the last 1 mile and follow signs to the trailhead.
