General Description

Metaska Picnic Site is 4 miles southeast of Ferris Canyon Campground, by McPhee Dam. It has 5 tables, a toilet and water is provided through hand pumps.

Directions from Dolores, Colorado: Travel west on Highway 145 for 2 miles. Go right on Highway 184 for 8 miles. Turn right on U.S. Highwya 666 for 13 miles, then go right on Forest Road 505 for 1 mile. Turn left at the intersection of FR 505 and go1.75 miles. Go right 1.5 miles on FR 505, then 9 miles on FR 504 to the Day Use Area.
