General Description

This gently sloping, grassy area is near the McPhee Reservoir's high-water line. The campground has 60 sites in three loops. Five are walk-ins and two are designed for wheelchair use. Only Loop "B" sites may be reserved, through the Reservation Center.

43 Unit Campground includes tables, preferred sites close to lake, fire places, tent pads, drinking water, composting toilets, asphalt road, parking spurs, trash disposal, and a campground host.

15 Unit Campground includes tables, fire places, tent pads, drinking water, composting toilets, and trash disposal. One vehicle space per unit. Spur length is 15 feet.

3 Unit Campground includes tables, grills, drinking water, toilets, asphalt parking, and trash disposal.

There are two adjacent group campgrounds, each can accommodate about 30 people.

Directions from Dolores, Colorado: Travel north at 11th street on Dolores-Norwood Road (Forest Road 526) for 6 miles. Then go southeast for 5.4 miles on House Creek Road (Forest Road 528).
