General Description

This is an easy ride which is close to town. Access is by taking Piedra Road for 8.0 miles north from U.S. Hwy. 160 until you reach Turkey Springs road 629 (left at the end of the pavement). Ride along road 629 for 2.0 miles and take the first road to the left (# 919) for 0.5 mile to a trail that branches to the left. The trail is marked by a large log across the old logging road.

At mile 4, you will reach a junction. Keep to the left on the double track trail to take you back to your starting point. Grades are gentle and this is a good route for beginners. If ridden in the opposite direction you have a beautiful view of Pagosa Peak and the surrounding mountains from the Turkey Springs road.
