General Description

East Lime Creek Picnic Area is located in the northern part of this area at an elevation of 10,000 feet. Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are popular winter activities and there are a number of well-marked trails for winter sports enthusiasts. In the summer, Lime Creek Road (Forest Road 591) is a scenic area to walk or ride a mountain bike.

Directions from Durango, Colorado: Travel north on U.S. Highway 550 for 36 miles.

Directions from Silverton, Colorado: Travel south on U.S. Highway 550 for 8 miles.
