Haviland Lake Campground has scenic and convenient campsites a mile off of U.S. Highway 550. With the Hermosa Cliffs in the background, morning views across the reservoir are memorable. Fishing can be good and row boating is permissible, although Forebay is a more secluded fishing site than Haviland Lake. Ponderosa pines shade the 45 sites and 66 feet is the longest RV/trailer that can be accommodated. There is a good selection of sites for RVs and tents, some are near the shore of Haviland Lake.
Directions from Durango,: Travel 18 miles north on U.S. Highway 550 and turn east on Forest Road 671. The campground is just across the dam.

Graysill Trail - This trail provides a quick and easy way out of Cascade Canyon. The main attraction from this trail is to get to the Rico-Silverton Trail instead of going all the way to the end of Cascade Creek.
Haviland Lake - Haviland Lake Fishing site is a scenic area located about one mile off U.S. Highway 550. Fishing can be good and row boating is permissible.
Rico-Silverton Trail - This trail ascends two high mountain passes, thus affording excellent views and good opportunities for photography.
Salt Creek Trail - The trail switchbacks down through meadows and aspen glades. The bottom of the trail is a bit rougher and steeper, so watch your step.
