General Description

East Lime Creek Picnic Ground is just south of Molas Pass adjacent to U.S. Highway 550 (Skyway). With two tables and toilets, the picnic area is a convenient rest stop for travelers and fires are permitted.

Directions from Silverton, Colorado: Located on U.S. Highway 550 approximately 6 miles south of Silverton.

Directions from Durango, Colorado: Travel north on U.S. Highway 550 for 38 miles.

Normal Services Available: Late May through Labor Day Weekend .

East Lime Creek General Forest Area - Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are popular in this area and there are a number of well-marked trails for winter sports enthusiasts.

East Lime Creek Picnic Ground - This picnic area is located south of Molas Pass at an elevation of 10,000 feet. There are two sites and toilets available; fires are permitted.

Molas Pass Interpretive Site - Dramatic views of Sultan Mountain to the north and the Animas River Gorge and Weminuche Wilderness to the east.
