General Description

GENERAL INFORMATION: First 12 miles of this road travels through Bureau of Land Management property. Prior to reaching the National Forest boundary, the visitor must fork right to continue onto National Forest Land. The road again forks with the right fork dead ending. Continuing left, a final fork is reached. Follow the road right to the North Absaroka Wilderness Boundary. The road continues to skirts the wilderness boundary for a few miles before dead ending. Motorized vehicles are prohibited inside the wilderness boundary. This route offers spectacular views to the surrounding valley below. Travelers are encouraged to use caution on this route during wet weather as the road become extremely slick.

Directions from Cody: Travel 9 miles northwest on WY 120. Turnoff to this route is marked by a sign stating Rattlesnake Mountain Access Road.

Normally Accessible: Mid-Spring through Mid-Fall (NOTE: Observe seasonal closures and take care not to damage natural enviroment.) .
