General Description

Drive east out of Aspen on Highway 82 to the winter road closure. From here you can cross-country ski, snowshoe or hike to the Weller Lake trailhead. It will take approximately 45 minutes of steady incline to reach the trailhead. From there the lake is only 20 minutes away. A path in the snow will exist from those who reached the trail before you.

Directions from Aspen: Drive east of Aspen on Highway 82 to the winter road closure. Hike or ski for approximately 45 minutes to the Weller Lake Trailhead located on the right side of the road. The trail to Weller Lake will take approximately 15 minutes.
