General Description

Facilities:
Marvine Campground has 18 camp sites with 3 horse campsites. The only corrals available for public use are the ones at the horse camp sites in the campground. The corrals at the Marvine Trailhead are for Outfitter and Guide use only. Additional facilities at the campground include tables, fire grates, toilets and drinking water. Trash service is provided.

Directions from Meeker: Travel east on Highway 13 from Meeker for 1 mile, turning right onto County Road 8. Travel 28 miles on County Road 8, then turn right onto Marvine Creek Road ( County Road 12). Follow this road for 7 miles to the campground.

Normal Services Available: Memorial Day Weekend through Mid-October (NOTE: The campground may be open beyond these dates with limited services.) .

Report: The campground was very nice although we had to remove quite a bit of manure from the corrals before we could use them. We were there in early Sept. so could account for it as was the end of the season. All trails were gorgeous and we loved both trails. We rode East Marvine and Marvine lake trails. They were of moderate difficulty and easy in some places. No bugs in September! What a relief. Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Some hunting was going on which was not a problem.

Report: Excellent place to camp. Very quiet. Camphosts were extremely nice people and very accomodating. Willing to go that extra step to help. People were very friendly and helpful. Scenery is beautiful. Plan to go back again sometime.

Report: stayed for two nights in mid-july and enjoyed everything but the flies! bring bug spray. very quiet with good access to beautiful little creek (no fish caught) and hiking.

East Marvine Trail - The trail leads up East Marvine Creek, through the the Flat Tops Wilderness to Johnson Lake. Finally, Big Marvine Peak offers a panoramic view of the Flat Tops Wilderness and surrounding area.

Marvine Trail - The Marvine Trail begins at the end of County Road 12. It accesses Marvine Creek and Marvine Lakes providing great opportunity to fish.

Marvine Lake - These two lakes cover 135 surface acres and offer Rainbow, Brook and Cutthroat Trout fishing.

Marvine Lakes General Forest Area - The Marvine Lakes general forest area offers access to a number of lakes and trails in the central part of the Flat Tops Wilderness Area of White River National Forest.

Papoose Trail - Papoose Creek Trail leads up Papoose Creek past several short waterfalls, to Papoose Basin. It then climbs onto the Flat Tops Plateau where it intersects the Oyster Lake Trail.
