General Description

This trail leads from Forest Road 8 to Lily Pond Park. It links to the Chinese Wall Trail or to Picket Pin Creek Trail which loops back to Trappers Lake Road. The Lily Pond Trail climbs 4 1/2 miles through stands of aspen, open parks, and scattered patches of spruce fir and dead spruce. The trail gets its name from the water lilies that bloom in a pond about 3 1/2 miles up the trail.

Directions from Meeker: The Lily Pond Trail is located 40 miles east of Meeker. Take State Highway 13 east out of Meeker for one mile; turn right on County Road 8 for 39 miles to the Lily Pond Trailhead. To get to the Picket Pin end of the trail, turn right at Trappers Lake Road for 5 miles to the parking area at Picket Pin Creek.

Chinese Wall Trail - This trail begins near Ripple Creek Pass and leads into the Flat Tops Wilderness. The trail provides panoramic views of the White River and Williams Fork drainages and the Flat Tops Plateau.

Himes Peak Campground - The Himes Peak Campground is located 47 miles east of Meeker, along the North Fork of the White River, at an elevation of 9,500 feet.

North Fork Campground - North Fork Campground is located 35 miles east of Meeker close to the North Fork of the White River, at an elevation of 8,000 feet. In addition to single sites, the campground has a group site for up to 50 people.

Picket Pin Trail - The Picket Pin Trail begins off the Trappers Lake Road. It follows Picket Pin Creek for two miles before angling cross country to enter the east end of Picket Pin Park.
