General Description

Howey Reservoir Road FDR 838 junctions the Hay Flat Road, 6 1.2 miles from the Forest boundary. After 1/4 mile, the Flag Creek Road drops down Flag Creek for 3 miles and dead ends at private land. FDR 838 continues south onto Middle Rifle Creek providing access to Big Mountain, Coulter Mesa and the Bar HL Park area.

Directions from Meeker: Drive south on 10th street out of Meeker and after crossing the White River, turn right onto the Flag Creek Road for 7 1/2 miles to the East Flag Creek Road (County Road 38). The Hay Flat Road FDR 220 begins at the Forest boundary three miles up County Road 38. Howey Reservoir Road FDR 838 junctions the Hay Flat Road, 6 1.2 miles from the Forest boundary.
