General Description

The Lake of the Woods offers fishing for Cutthroat Trout, Brook Trout, and Rainbow Trout. This small lake of 8 surface acres is located 9010 feet above sea level.

Directions from Meeker: Lake of the Woods Trail is located 47 miles east of Meeker. Take State Highway 13 east out of Meeker for 1 mile; turn right on County Road 8 for 39 miles to the Trappers Lake Road turn right for 7 miles to the Lake of the Woods Trail. Half of a mile below Skinny Fish Creek.

Lake of the Woods Trail - This is a short trail which provides access to the Lake of the Woods, located several miles north of Trappers Lake.

Skinny Fish- McGinnis Trail - Skinny Fish-McGinnis Trail leads from the Trappers Lake Road,up Skinny Fish Creek past the Lost Lakes trail head and eventually forks to either Skinny Fish Lake or McGinnis Lake.
