Report: Unless you manage to get a site in the wooded section (7-15 or so), tent camping here won't be much fun. Tenters should most definitely avoid site 22. Too close to latrine (and you WILL smell it constantly), nearly nowhere to put a tent, generally not that pleasant.
Conditions: Very windy and rained quite a lot.
Water Availability: Water sources are excellent; there really are spigots everywhere.

Report: hAVING GROWN UP IN REDSTONE MY 67 YEAR OLD WHEEL CHAIR BOUND BROTHER, JACK WANTED TO VISIT BEFORE HE GOES IN FOR SERIOUS HEART SURGERY. JULY 2 MY 89 YEAR OLD MOTHER, MY YOUNGER SISTER AND MYSELF DESENDED MCCLURE PASS ABOUT 1 PM. mOM HAD BROUGHT PICNICK SUPPLYS ALONG SO WE SAW BOGON FLATS CAMP GROUND AND DECIDED TO SOP FOR A FEW MINUTES AND HAVE A SANDWICH. THERE WERE SOME SMALL SITES NEAR THE ENTRANCE WITH NO SHADE ON A HOT DAY AND A SIGN JUST BEYOND THESE SIGHTS STATING THAT YOU ARE ENTERING A FEE AREA. THE AREA WHERE WE WERE HAD NO SIGN OF RUNNING WATER AND DID NOT STATE WHETHER IT WAS FOR PICKNICKING OR CAMPING. WE HAD BEEN PARKED 5 MINUTES AND JUST MADE A SANDWICH WHEN A MAN WEARING A UNIFORM WITH A FOREST SERVICE ENSIGNA ON IT APROACHED US WAVING A LEAFLET WITH $14 PRINTED ON IT. HE EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS A FEE AREA AND WE OWED HIM $14 WHICH I PROMPTLY PAID HIM. HE DID SAY IT WOULD BE LESS IF WE HAD A GOLDEN AGE CARD. (WHICH MOM HAS) BUT DIDN'T HAVE WITH HER. hE GAVE US NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES SUCH AS LEAVING THE SITE ETC. AND I AM SURE HE COULD HAVE FINED US ETC. IF WE REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH HIS DEMANDS. HE ALSO DID NOT GIVE ME A RECIEPT. I THINK THIS AMOUNTS TO NO LESS THAN EXTORTION FOR SUCH AN EXORBEDENT FEE FOR A FEW MINUTES OF EATING YOUR OWN SANDWICH ON OUR OWN PUBLIC LAND.

Report: Great place if you are in an RV... tenters will be accosted all night by the roar of generators and the blair of TV sets.

Report: A wonderful campground and if you reserve a spot on the river it is even better. AS mentioned in the previous trip report, you can reserve more sites than listed here.

Report: This websitre needs to be updated -- it says campsites 13-37 are reservable. We have been there this summer, and campites 8 through 12 are also reservable, which we found out (to our dismay) after we arrived there and tried to settle in campsite 9.
