This trail starts one mile up the Silver Creek trail and ends when it joins Carbonate Creek trail. Arkansas Mt. Trail connects 3 trails together. 1.5 miles down you will connect with North Lost Trail, bear right, and shortly after a stream crossing a trail coming from Avalanche Pass joins in. Keeping left you will eventually come to Carbonate Creek. It is a seldom used trail and hard to follow. Respect Private Property! The trail is mostly an open hillside with patches of spruce/fir. There are lots of flowers in the early summer.
Directions from Carbondale: Travel south on Hwy. 133 for 25 miles past Carbondale to the Marble turnoff. Turn east on to County Road 3 to Marble. Travel through Marble and past Beaver Lake for approximately one mile to a junction in the road. Take road #315 to the left for about 3 1/2 miles. As the road starts to descend you will see a steep road to the left beside a small stream, take the left turn to the trailhead. The road from Marble is four-wheel drive. CAUTION: Road is hazardous when wet. Walk about 1 mile up Silver Creek Pass Trail to Arkansas Mt. Trail on the left.
