High Trail ends at its junction with the Derby Mesa Road/County Road 39. Travelers may turn left at that point and rejoin the Colorado River Road near the small town of Burns, or turn right and rejoin the Colorado River Road at Derby Junction.

The road begins on private property, crosses into public lands, then again crosses private land for about 1 1/2 miles. Travelers are asked to respect this private land.
