Directions from Vail: Travel west on I-70 approximately 5 miles to exit 171, the Minturn exit. Turn right (south) from the off-ramp onto Highway 24. Follow Highway 24 south approximately 10.5 miles from I-70 to the turnoff on the left (east) side if the road. A picnic area is located directly across Hwy 24 from the campground.

Directions from Beaver Creek: Travel east on I-70 approximately 4 miles to exit 171, the Minturn exit. Turn right (south) from the off-ramp onto Highway 24. Follow Highway 24 south approximately 10.5 miles from I-70 to the turnoff on the left (east) side if the road. A picnic area is located directly across Hwy 24 from the campground.

This campground will remain open at no charge Oct 1st-Memorial Day Weekend. But snow depth may not permit this since it is not plowed. No services are available during this time) .

Camp Hale Memorial Campground - The Camp Hale Memorial Campground is located in historic Camp Hale, south of Minturn, at an elevation of 9200 feet. The campground consists of 21 sites and reservations are accepted.

Holy Cross Wilderness Trails - Holy Cross District - The Holy Cross Ranger District portion of the Holy Cross Wilderness lies to the southwest of Vail and Minturn. The different trails are accessed from either US Hwy. 24, Tigiwon Road, or Homestake Road.

Homestake Road - The Homestake Road is an improved dirt road which runs up the scenic Homestake Creek Valley to Homestake Reservoir. It accesses numerous trails and three campgrounds.

McAllister Gulch/Hornsilver Mountain Four-Wheel Dr - This steep and difficult jeep road begins south of Minturn at Camp Hale. It eventually links into the Wearyman, then the Shrine Pass roads, ending in the town of Redcliff.

No Name/Wurtz Ditch Four-Wheel Drive Road - The No Name Jeep Road is located south of Minturn. The road can link to Wurtz Ditch creating a loop back along Hwy. 24, however, snow fields remain late into the summer and the link is often not possible.

Upper Eagle River General Forest Area - The Upper Eagle River General Forest Area includes most of the area from Minturn, south to Tennessee Pass.

Wearyman/Resolution Four-Wheel Drive Road - The Wearyman Jeep Road begins east of Redcliff and eventually links to the Resolution Road, which leads to Hwy. 24 at Camp Hale.
