General Description

INTRODUCTION
Some steep climbs and a few off camber spots make this road fun, but not overly challenging. The road is mostly on a sunny hillside that winds through aspen forests where elk are frequently spotted.

This road is most popular with mountain bikers, and local races are held on this road. The best mountain bike times are in the 17 minute range, hard to believe!!

At the top of the last steep climb, you'll be at the base of a large radio tower. There are great views to the west, south and east, with the focus towards the west and the town of Avon and Beaver Creek Ski Area.

TRAIL TIPS
Stay in "four-low" to avoid spinning your wheels on the loose, rocky climbs. Watch for mountain bikers!

Directions from Vail: From Vail, take the west Vail exit (#173) and travel west on North Frontage Road about 1/4 mile until the road makes a hairpin turn to the right. Turn right onto Chamonix Road, then right onto Arosa Drive. Stay to the right onto Cortina Lane and it will turn into the dirt road that becomes Davos. There is a spur at 4 miles from the paved road, stay to the left at this point to complete the road.

Directions from Beaver Creek: Take I-70 east to the west Vail exit (#173) and travel west on North Frontage Road about 1/4 mile until the road makes a hairpin turn to the right. Turn right onto Chamonix Road, then right onto Arosa Drive. Stay to the right onto Cortina Lane and it will turn into the dirt road that becomes Davos. There is a spur at 4 miles from the paved road, stay to the left at this point to complete the road.
