INTRODUCTIONThe main attraction to both skiers and snowmobiles is a small cabin at the end of the trail. The Line Shack offers a good place for lunch and viewing scenery. The Line Shack is a public use cabin, please respect the property and others whom use it. The extensive open meadows and ski runs from the old ski area (Meadow Mountain) offer good Nordic and telemark skiing. Sledding is a popular activity at the base of the mountain. Please use extra caution when participating in this sport. Most accidents are parents of the children. Please be familiar with your limitations. TRAIL TIPS The parking area is surrounded by a wooden fence. The fence is to designate a nonmotorized play area (sledding). All snowmobiles are prohibited to enter into this restricted area. Motorized users need to become familiar with these regulations at our administrative office. Obtain current avalanche information at 970-827-5687. The Forest Service does not provide sleds. These can be purchased at Walmart, Safeway, or sporting good stores in Vail or Avon. BACKCOUNTRY RESPONSIBILITY
