General Description

Peak One Campground is located on Dillon Reservoir, between Frisco and Breckenridge, on the Peninsula Recreation Area (Frisco Nordic Center). This campground is a good alternative to Pine Cove paved campground. Reservations are accepted for sites in B Loop, the other loops are First-come, First-serve. Campground and additional vehicle fees are charged at Peak One.

Facilities and Services:

Peak One Campground has 79 camping sites. It has pit toilets, water, garbage service and paved roads.

Directions from Silverthorne: Go 4 miles west on I-70 to the Frisco Exit 203. Travel south on Hwy. 9 to the Peninsula Recreation Area. Turn left and follow the road approximately 2 miles to Peak One on the left (west) side of road.

Directions from Beaver Creek: Travel 34 miles east on I-70 to the first Frisco exit (#201). Turn right and drive through Frisco to Hwy 9. Turn right on Hwy. 9 and go about 1.5 miles to the entrance of the Peninsula Recreation Area. Turn left and follow the road approximately 2 miles to Peak One on the left (west) side of road.

Directions from Vail: Travel 25 miles east on I-70 to the first Frisco exit (#201). Turn right and drive through Frisco to Hwy 9. Turn right on Hwy. 9 and go about 1.5 miles to the entrance of the Peninsula Recreation Area. Turn left and follow the road approximately 2 miles to Peak One on the left (west) side of road.

Dillon Reservoir Recreation Area - The Dillon Reservoir Recreation Area surrounds Dillon Reservoir, on the south side of Silverthorne and Dillon. The reservoir sits at an elevation of 9,015 feet.

Gold Hill Trail - The Gold Hill Trail starts just off Highway 9, between Frisco and Breckenridge. It leads up to The Peaks Trail.

Miners Creek Trail - Miners Creek trail stretches from Frisco, up along the top of the Tenmile Range, then down to Copper Mountain. It can be accessed at either end.

Mount Royal Trail - The Mount Royal Trail starts on the edge of Frisco and leads up past the old town of Masontown to the summit of Mount Royal.

Peaks Trail - The Peaks Trail connects the towns of Frisco and Breckenridge, along the lower portions of the Tenmile Range. It is a popular mountain bike route.

Tenmile Meadows Trail - The Tenmile Meadows Trail is located south of Frisco. The Peaks and Miners Creek Trails are followed to reach Tenmile Meadows, at the base of Tenmile Peak and Peak 3.
