Cataract Creek Campground is an undeveloped campground. It is located west of Green Mountain Reservoir, just off Forest Service road #1725. It sits near Cataract Lake, at an elevation of 8,600 feet. It has only 4 camping sites, with a total capacity of 20 people. No camping or campfires are allowed within 500 feet of lower Cataract Lake. The campground is first-come, first-serve. The campground is located within the Cataract Lake Fee Demo area where a fee will be charged to enter. Facilities: Cataract Creek Campground has vault toilets, but YOU MUST PACK OUT ALL TRASH.
Directions from Silverthorne: Go 14 miles north on Hwy. 9 to Forest Service Road 30. Travel approximately 4 miles northwest on Forest Service Road 30. Turn left on Forest Service Road 1725. Travel southwest for 2 miles to the campground.
Directions from Vail: Travel 29 miles east on I-70 to Silverthorne. From Silverthorne, go 14 miles north on Hwy. 9 to Forest Service Road 30. Travel approximately 4 miles northwest on Forest Service Road 30. Turn left on Forest Service Road 1725. Travel southwest for 2 miles to the campground.
Directions from Beaver Creek: Travel 38 miles east on I-70 to Silverthorne. From Silverthorne, go 14 miles north on Hwy. 9 to Forest Service Road 30. Travel approximately 4 miles northwest on Forest Service Road 30. Turn left on Forest Service Road 1725. Travel southwest for 2 miles to the campground.
