The Breckenridge General Forest Area is located south of Silverthorne and Dillon Reservoir. It includes the area around the town of Breckenridge the Swan River, the upper Blue River, and the north side of Hoosier Pass.

Directions from Silverthorne: Go 4 miles west on I-70 to Frisco, then south on Hwy 9.

Directions from Breckenridge: Travel 35 miles east on I-70 to the first Frisco exit (#201). Turn right and drive through Frisco to Hwy 9. Turn right on Hwy. 9 and go toward Breckenridge.

Directions from Vail: Travel 26 miles east on I-70 to the first Frisco exit (#201). Turn right and drive through Frisco to Hwy 9. Turn right on Hwy. 9 and go toward Breckenridge

Breckenridge - Breckenridge offers over 2,350 acres of skiing, a charming Victorian town and easy access to Denver. Breckenridge supplanted sister resort Vail as the most popular ski resort in the U.S., logging 1.6 million skier visits during the 2006-07 ski season.

Crystal Trail - The Crystal Trail is located south of Breckenridge. It leads to Upper Crystal Lake.

Peaks Trail - The Peaks Trail connects the towns of Frisco and Breckenridge, along the lower portions of the Tenmile Range. It is a popular mountain bike route.

Quandary Peak - Quandary Peak is located southwest of Breckenridge. Although the hike is long, Quandary is one of the easier 14'ers to ascend.

Spruce Creek Trail (Dillon Ranger District) - The Spruce Creek Trail south of Breckenridge, leads to Upper Mohawk Lake.

Wheeler National Recreation Trail - The Wheeler National Recreation Trail leads from McCullough Gulch, south of Breckenridge, over the Tenmile Range to Copper Mountain.
