General Description

Private mining claims exist here so remember to respect all private property. Snowmobiling along Deer Creek bring you to an open area near timberline. Here, the view toward a massive cliff of snow, sculpted by the wind and backlit by the sun highlights the tour. The area provides a variety of terrain and scenery for the snowmobiler. This area is shared with cross country skiers and you are asked to exercise caution and courtesy while snowmobiling in the Deer Creek drainage.

Directions from Silverthorne: Travel east on US Highway 6 to the Montezuma Road east of Keystone. Turn right, veer left, and continue to the town of Montezuma. Drive through the town to the end of the plowed road.

Directions from Beaver Creek: Travel 38 miles east on I-70 to Silverthorne. Turn right in Silverthorne and travel east on US Highway 6 to the Montezuma Road east of Keystone. Turn right, veer left, and continue to the town of Montezuma. Drive through the town to the end of the plowed road.

Directions from Vail: Travel 20 miles east on I-70 to Silverthorne. Turn right in Silverthorne and travel east on US Highway 6 to the Montezuma Road east of Keystone. Turn right, veer left, and continue to the town of Montezuma. Drive through the town to the end of the plowed road.
