The Tenmile Meadows Trail is located south of Frisco. The Peaks and Miners Creek Trails are followed to reach Tenmile Meadows, at the base of Tenmile Peak and Peak 3. Expect mountain bikers and vehicles near Rainbow Lake. While passing around this lake, watch for the small hiker symbols located at questionable intersections. These will direct you along the correct trail. The gently rolling Peaks Trail takes the hiker around the West Shore of Rainbow Lake, before connecting with the Miners Creek Trail. From this junction, it is a 2 mile gradual climb through evergreen forest to the open meadows at the base of Tenmile Peak and Peak 3. Spectacular views of these peaks and of the Front Range make this area an excellent lunch or camping area. A primitive trail continues from the meadow to cross the Tenmile Range. Hikers interested in a longer, more challenging trip should consult the Miners Creek Trail for more information.
