Helende Campground is located near the Payette River. Situated in a lodgepole pine forest. The area is tree-covered and shady. Roads and spurs are paved. Some first-come, first-serve sites may be available. Please contact the Lowman Ranger District at 208-259-3361 for camping information regarding fees and services during the off season (September to May.Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance. Maximum 2 vehicles per site.
Directions: From Boise, take Highway 21 through Idaho City and Lowman (Milepost 72) to Milepost 80. Look for the signs on the highway.
