TRAIL BEGINS: On the Shoal Creek Trail #119 about 1/2 mile south of Shoal Creek Falls.TRAIL ENDS: On Forest Road #30519 Jackpine summer home road about 1/4 from the entrance. ATTRACTIONS: This trail provides access to Granite Creek drainage and good views of the Gros Ventre Range. NOTE: all of trail in Shoal Creek Wilderness Study Area.
Directions from US Hwy. 191-189, Hoback Canyon: Access Shoal Creek from either Hwy. 191-189 or from the Riling Draw entrance. Take Shoal Creek Trail #119 NW toward Shoal Creek Falls. Just below the falls take the left fork and follow the sign for Jack pine Trail.Alternately, from US Hwy. 191-189 go W of Kozy Campground about 1 1/2 miles to Granite Creek Road #30500. Go north about 6 miles to the Jackpine summer home road #30519. The trailhead is about 1/4 mile west on the summer home road, in an open meadow with a lone pine tree on the east side of the road. Not well marked. NOTE: This trail is difficult to follow and has not been inventoried completely.
