General Description

TRAIL BEGINS: About 1 1/2 mile northeast of the south end of the Riling Draw Road, off of Forest road #30600.

TRAIL ENDS: On the Shoal Creek Trail #119, about 3 1/2 miles from the Riling Draw junction.

ATTRACTIONS: The trail offers good views of the Sawtooth of the Gros Ventre, and access to Tin Can Park and Shoal Creek. Tin Can Park provides ample grazing and water is available most of the way from Rock Creek. NOTE: Upper 2 miles of trail is in the Shoal Creek Wilderness Study Area.

Directions from US Hwy. 191-189, Hoback Canyon: Go to Forest Road #30600 (Dell Creek). Go north on Dell Creek Road about 3 1/2 miles. Turn left, (north) on to the Riling Draw road going through two gates on private land. Take a right just north of the second gate and go northeast to the second drainage going north and the Trailhead.

Dell Creek Trail - This trail provides a good overview of Dell Creek, which provides ample water and great views of alpine areas of the Gros Ventre range.

Parody Draw Trail - This trail leads up Parody Draw, out of Dell Creek, and links to the Rock Creek Trail. It offers a good view of the Gros Ventre Range.

Shoal Creek Trail #119 - This long, moderately difficult trail leads through mostly open country as it travels along Shoal Creek. It continues into the Jackson Ranger District where it links to several other trails.
