General Description

TRAIL BEGINS: On Cliff Creek Trail #137 about 1 mile south of the trailhead.

TRAIL ENDS: On the Monument Ridge Trail #132 about 3 miles south of Monument Ridge Lookout.

ATTRACTIONS: This trail offers expansive views of the Wind River, Wyoming, Salt River and Gros Ventre ranges from Monument Ridge. The trail goes through thick timber before breaking into the open and passing the Snag Creek headwaters.

Directions from US Hwy. 191-189, Hoback Canyon: Turn south about 4 miles west of the Hoback Guard Station onto Forest Road # 30530. Continue south to where the road turns sharply to the east and becomes Sandy Marshall road. Turn west, ford Cliff Creek and continue about 3/4 mile south to the Cliff Creek Trailhead. Follow the Cliff Creek Trail #137, to the sign on the east side that indicates Snag Creek.

Cliff Creek Trail - This trail leads up Cliff Creek to the Upper Hoback River Trail #131. It accesses one of the districts prettiest waterfalls.

Monument Ridge Trail - This trail leads past the Monument Ridge Lookout and offers good views. Portions are open for motorized travel.
