General Description

TRAIL BEGINS: Forest Park Elk Feed Ground, near mouth of Elk Creek.

TRAIL ENDS: At the junction with Swift Creek Trail #035, 2.5 miles east of the Swift Creek Trailhead.

ATTRACTIONS: Attractions of this trail include the scenic Salt River Range and Rock Lake Peak.

NOTE: Watch for blazes to stay on the trail, numerous other paths cross it.

Directions from Alpine: Follow Greys River Road #10138, south to the Forest Park area. Go West to the Forest Park Elk Feed Ground from Greys River Road. From the feed ground, trail leads south to the mouth of Elk Creek. The trail is not signed.

Forest Park Campground - Forest Park has 13 campsites and is located along the Greys River, 35 miles southeast of Alpine.

Swift Creek Road - This road, just east of Afton, accesses interesting geologic formations, a campground, Periodic Spring, picnic areas, and trails.

Swift Creek Trail - This trail leads up Swift Creek into the scenic Salt River Range. It accesses the viewpoint of Periodic Spring, about 3/4 mile up trail.

Way Trail - This 49-mile long trail parallels the Greys River along the east side of the Salt River Range. It intersects many other trails making various route combinations possible.
