General Description

LOCATION: Northeast of Jackson, along the banks of the Gros Ventre River, five miles above Lower Slide Lake.

ATTRACTIONS: Fishing is available along both Crystal Creek and the Gros Ventre River. Nearby trailheads offer access to the Gros Ventre Wilderness. (Crystal Creek and Blue Miner Lake)

FACILITIES: Tables, fire rings, toilets, water.

Directions from Jackson: Follow U.S. Highway 191 north to Gros Ventre Junction. Turn right and proceed past Kelly to intersection with the Gros Ventre Road. Turn right again and follow road 5.5 miles to the end of the pavement. Continue another 5 miles on a winding dirt road to the campground. Crystal Creek is the second campground on the left after crossing the Gros Ventre River.

Normal Services Available: Early June through Late October (NOTE: The operating season is the period water and/or garbage services are provided and fees charged. Outside the operating season, non-highway campgrounds are usable, unless inaccessible due to snow. No fees are charged or services provided.) .

Dallas Fork Trail - This trail accesses Slate Creek and Spread Creek Drainages. It starts 3 miles up Slate Creek Trail and ends at the South Fork of spread Creek.

Haystack Fork Trail (Haystack Fork to Dry Dallas C - This trail has access to Slate Creek Drainage and various tributaries. It begins up the Haystack Fork of Slate Creek Trail and ends at Dry Dallas Creek.

Haystack Fork Trail (Haystack Fork to Lightning Cr - This trail has access to Slate Creek Drainage and various tributaries. It begins 2 miles up Haystack Fork Trail and ends at the mouth of Lightning Creek.

North Fork of Ditch Creek/Slate Creek Trail - This is a route through to Gros Ventre River drainage. It starts at the confluence of Middle and North Forks of Ditch Creek and ends at the mouth of Slate Creek.
