Cottonwood Creek Trail

TRAIL ENDS: Jackson/Blackrock District boundary (divide between Cottonwood Creek and N. Fork of Spread Creek)

ATTRACTIONS: This trail is a connection between Cottonwood Creek and Spread Creek drainages. Do not confuse with Cottonwood Creek to the south of Hoback Junction. This Cottonwood Creek flows into the Gros Ventre River.

Directions from Jackson: Follow Hwy. 191 north and make a right on Gros Ventre Road. Follow Gros Ventre Road east past the bridge over the river at Upper Slide Lake to Gunsight Pass junction. Bear right and follow main road into Cottonwood Creek drainage. Bear left at Cottonwood Creek/Fish Creek junction and follow jeep road along Cottonwood Creek roughly 4 miles to Sohare Creek (road fords creek in two places).

Normally Accessible: June through October .

Maverick Creek Trail - This trail connects Cottonwood Creek and Spread Creek drainages. It begins at the head of Cottonwood Creek and ends at the North Fork of Spread Creek near Split Rock Creek.

Sohare Creek Trail - This trail is a connection between Cottonwood Creek and Spread Creek drainages. It begins at the mouth of Sohare Creek and ends at the bridge across South Fork of Spread Creek near McMichael Draw.

Spruce Creek Trail - This trail is a connection between Cottonwood Creek (north end of district, tributary of Gros Ventre River) and Fish Creek drainages.
