General Description

Halfmoon Lake Trailhead is located 11 miles north of Pinedale, to the north of Halfmoon Lake. Trails which begin here lead around Halfmoon Lake and toward Fayette Lake, or toward the Bridger Wilderness.

Directions from Pinedale: Follow Skyline Drive north toward Fremont and Halfmoon Lakes. Turn toward Halfmoon Lake and follow to the trailhead.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Accessible: Early June through Late October .

Halfmoon Lake - This 900 acre lake is located about 10 miles north of Pinedale at an elevation of 7,600 feet. It offers opportunities for boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, hiking and simply viewing scenery.

Skyline Drive - This route begins in Pinedale and leads up past Fremont and Halfmoon Lakes to Elkhart Park and Trails End Campground. The entire route is paved.
