General Description

LOCATION: About 28 miles east of Pinedale via Pole Creek Road or Fall Creek Road.

ATTRACTIONS: Trolling for lake trout is popular in this lake.

NATURAL SETTING: Burnt Lake is lined with pine trees on the eastern edge and aspens extend to the west. There are two small islands in the center of the lake.

FACILITIES: The lake has an undeveloped boat launch site and a pit toilet.

TYPES OF FISH: brook trout, rainbow trout, lake trout (Mackinaw)

Directions from Pinedale: Travel just south of town to Pole Creek Road, or further south to Fall Creek Road. Turn east and follow either of these to Burnt Lake.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Accessible: May through October (NOTE: The lake is closed to fishing from November 15 through April 30.) .

Burnt Lake Trailhead - Burnt Lake Trailhead is located east of Pinedale, near the southwest end of Burnt Lake. Trails lead eventually to the Bridger Wilderness.
