General Description

Big Caliente Day Use is located in the Upper Santa Ynez Recreation Area featuring a hot spring, 1 picnic site with vault toilet, and trailhead access. The site is open all year on a first-come, first-served basis. An Adventure Pass is required. Driving time from Santa Barbara is 1 hour, 45 minutes.

Directions from Santa Barbara, CA: From Highway 154 at the San Marcos Pass summit, turn east on East Camino Cielo. Continue for 23 miles to Pendola station. Just beyond the station, turn north on Road 5N16 and follow for 3 miles to the picnic area.
