General Description

The Gold Lake Trail is an easy 1.5 mile trail at an elevation of 5,800 feet. This trail is suited for families and is an easy day hike. Swimming and fishing are available at the lake, but campsites are limited. The trail accesses the 21,000 acre Buck Lake Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail.

Directions from Quincy: Travel wet on Bucks Lake Road for 9.2 miles, then through Meadow Valley. Turn right on graveled road (24N29X.) Note Silver Lake sign and proceed 6.4 miles to campground and lake.

Normally Open: Year-round (NOTE: The recommended season is Summer and Fall.) .

Gold Lake/Granite Gap Trailhead - The Silver Lake / Granite Gap Trailhead is located approximately 10 miles west of Quincy at an elevation of 5,800 feet. This trailhead provides access to the Gold Lake Trail and the Granite Gap Trail.

Granite Gap Trail - The Granite Gap Trail is an easy 0.9 mile trail at an elevation of 5,800 feet. This trail is steep and accesses Mud Lake, Rock Lake and the Pacific Crest Trail, where Granite Gap terminates.
