General Description

This trail connects Troy Meadow Campground overflow area with Fish Creek Campground. It is an excellent trail for beginners.

Directions from Kernville: Travel 53 miles northeast on Mtn. 99, Sherman Pass Rd. (22S05), or 34 miles west of Hwy. 395 via Nine Mile Canyon Rd. (J41) to Troy Meadow Campground.

Kids ranged from 9-17. My 13 yrs old and our 17 yrs old rode many of the trails, including Troy Mdw/ Fish Creek/Beach Ridge. Terrain is fairly technical single track with numerous rocks and trees. Experience was GREAT! During one ride, which lasted two hours, we only saw 3 other riders. So, not too crowded! Crazy drive up the mtn from Ridgecrest area, road is very steep, especially with a toyhauler! Conditions: Dry, sandy, rocky, lots of trees, and even more mosquitos! Water Availability: Brought our own water, but there is a hose-bib for fresh water in Troy Mdw Overflow. No dump facilities at campground(and Grumpy's was full)
