The trail begins one half mile past Powell Meadow off of Road 21S36 and ends at Snake Creek. This 4X4 road provides access to Monache Meadow and the South Fork of the Kern Wild and Scenic River. Excellent for beginners and all four-wheel drive users.
For mountain bike users there is a 1.8 mile descent down a wide 4X4 trail to Snake Creek. After creek crossing, the trail has moderate up and down grades.
Directions from Kernville: Travel north about 16 miles on Mtn. 99 and turn right (east) onto Sherman Pass Rd. (22S05) and travel about 24 miles to FS 21S03 continuing north about 3 miles to FS 21S36, trail begins 1/2 mile past Powell Meadow off of Road 21S36.
