The Alpine Pedal Path meanders along the sparkling north shore of Big Bear Lake from the Stanfield Cutoff to the Solar Observatory. It's gentle ups and downs proceed through a pedestrian tunnel under Highway 38 to the Cougar Crest Trail parking lot. This 3.5-mile path connects the parking lot with the Big Bear Discovery Center where bathrooms, water and advice on recreational activities is available.

For a quick introduction to the lake environment, walk the Alpine Pedal Path on the north shore of Big Bear Lake. Stroll through pine trees and open meadows close to the water's edge. This path is suitable for hikers, joggers, bikers, skaters and those in wheelchairs. Additionally, this is a nice trail on which to enjoy a picnic.
