West Kaiser Campground has no fee, potable water, or hookups. There is stream fishing and it is a nice getaway with very peaceful with beautiful views. Eight campsites with vault toilets are available June through October.
Directions from Huntington Lake: Allow 4 hours from Huntington Lake. Take Kaiser Pass Road and 2 miles beyond Kaiser Pass (White Bark Vista) turn left at "Sample Meadow" turnoff. Beyond Sample Meadow Campground the road becomes a maintained, graded dirt road for 10 miles. At the turnoff from Kaiser Diggings, approximately one mile south, you will come to the West Kaiser campground. A short distance from West Kaiser Campground the road becomes paved and continues on the Big Creek Road. At this point, you can turn left and take Huntington Lake Road to Huntington Lake and Highway 168, or turn right and go through the quaint town of Big Creek to highway 168 and to Shaver Lake.
