This more difficult route gives access to Mirror Lake. The lake has camping and fishing opportunities. The short, 1.5 mile drive will present a challenge to beginner drivers, but is not the most difficult trail. The trail is relatively close to Huntington Lake and the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness Area. This route provides a short drive to an area where there is primitive camping.
Directions from Shaver Lake: Follow highway 168 for about 12 miles until you find forest road 8S10 on the right. Take this road for about two miles until the road forks. The left fork should be forest road 8S42. This road will go for two to three miles until it forks to the left as Mirror Lake/Strawberry Route and to the right as Coyote Route.
