General Description

Near Wild Plum Campground, Haypress Creek has catchable rainbow trout are planted every two weeks throughout the year. The upper stream runs through the meadows and is abundant with brook trout.

Directions from Sierra City: Travel east on Hwy. #49 for approximately .5 miles, turn right onto Wild Plum Road and travel approximately 1 mile, the campground will be on the right. The creek is accessible near the campground.

PCT Wild Plum Loop Trail - Wild Plum Loop Trail is an easy 2.5 mile loop and is ideal for visitors of the campground and Sierra City motels since it offers a delightful short hike. The trail meets the Pacific Crest Trail.

Wild Plum Campground - Wild Plum Campground is locate 1 mile east of Sierra City and has 47 campsite. The main attractions of this campground are the Kentucky Mine, the Sierra County Historic Park and PCT Equestrian access.
