General Description

Talbot Campground is located five miles above French Meadows Reservoir at an elevation of 5,600 feet. The campground has 5 campsites and toilets. There is no water other than the river so purify the water before you drink it. The campground is on the Middle Fork of the American River and is near a trailhead to the Granite Chief area

Directions from Foresthill: Travel 36 miles east on Mosquito Ridge Rd. and proceed to the campground. The campground is located five miles above French Meadows Reservoir.

Normal Services Available: June through October (NOTE: may be open off season, but without water, trash removal and other managed services.) .

Talbot Creek Fishing Site - Talbot Creek is a native rainbow trout fishery located in a remote area. Approximately five miles north of French Meadows Reservoir, this creek provides fishing close to Talbot Campground.
