General Description

Located adjacent to the South Yuba River and near Interstate 80. Restrooms are provided. Activities include fishing, swimming, hiking nearby trails, sight-seeing and learning about emigrant history. Nearby facilities include Rainbow Lodge, Big Bend Visitors Center and Loch Leven Trail. There are campsites next to the California Emigrant Trail.

  • Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
  • This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends.
  • This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends.
  • An additional fee will be collected on-site for extra vehicles.

Directions: From Truckee, California, take Highway 80 west for 17 miles. Take the Rainbow/Big Bend exit. If westbound, turn left under freeway to campground entrance. If eastbound, turn right at stop sign for campground.
