Length: 1.7 Miles (2.83 Kilometers) West end of trail to viewpoint is 1.0 miles each way. East end of trail to viewpoint is 0.7 miles each way.

General Description

Independence Rock Trail (#3431) is an easy to moderate 1.7 miles of trail. Nice viewpoint of local area. Very large anthills along trail. Lightly used trail. Near Marion Forks Campground, Fish Hatchery, and Guard Station.

Directions from Detroit: Travel east on Hwy. 22 from Detroit Ranger Station for 18 miles. At Marion Forks, turn left onto Road 2255; go 1/8 mile to west end of trail.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Open: Early Spring through Early Winter .
