General Description

Enjoy the 30-acre lake and activities such as camping, picnicking, hiking, fishing, and boating and swimming at Open Pond Recreation Area south of Andalusia.

The picnic area has 15 picnic sites with picnic tables and grills and flush toilets. The area is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Directions from Andalusia: Travel south on Hwy. 29 for approximately 10 miles to Alabama Hwy. 137, turn left (south) and go 5.2 miles to County Road #24 where there is a sign reading "Open Pond Recreation Area". Turn left (east) onto County Road #24 and continue .3 miles to County Road #28. Follow signs to Open Pond.
