This is a primitive camp at the trailhead for the Shoal Creek Horse Trail System, near Heflin. Warden Station Horse Camp is a good staging place for horseback riding on the trail system. There are 45 camping sites with no hookups, and no showers. There is drinking water and toilets.
Directions from Heflin: Travel west on Hwy. # 78 for 7.3 miles, turn left onto Cleburne County Road #61 and go 8.5 miles, then turn right on the first paved road (Forest Road 500) . The entrance to the camp will be on the right.

Number of People Encountered: 0-10 ppl Recommend to a Friend: Highly Report: The trails could be better marked, as there are alot of trees down and you must get off trails to go around and it's hard to know which way to go when you get back on. Conditions: muddy and many, many fallen trees.
